Kate Raworth’s Message to Vermont

Greetings, Vermont Prosperity Project community!

As many of you know, we recently held our first gathering of changemakers at the Vermont College of Fine Arts. It was a wonderful afternoon, and we’re grateful to everyone who attended and contributed to the discussion. For those who were unable to join us, we want to ensure that you have access to the same resources and information so that you can stay engaged in our work moving forward.

One of the highlights of the day was a message from Kate Raworth, renowned author and economist who developed the Doughnut Economics framework. In her message to Vermont, Kate shared her vision for a healthy, sustainable economy that meets the needs of all people without exceeding our ecological limits. If you haven’t had a chance to watch her message yet, we encourage you to do so now: https://www.ted.com/talks/kate_raworth_a_healthy_economy_should_be_designed_to_thrive_not_grow?language=en (15min)

We’re excited to announce that the Vermont Prosperity Project is now connected to the Doughnut Economics Action Lab (DEAL), a global network of initiatives working toward the shared goal of meeting the social foundation of needs for all within the limits of our living planet. You can learn more about DEAL here: https://doughnuteconomics.org/discover-the-community, and check out our network page here: https://doughnuteconomics.org/groups-and-networks/37

We hope that Kate’s message and the resources provided here will inspire and empower you to join us in building a more sustainable, equitable economy for all Vermonters. Stay tuned for updates on future events and opportunities to get involved.

Thank you for your commitment to our shared vision of prosperity for all.

Sincerely,

The Vermont Prosperity Project Team
